On the 29th of March the Tanker will be hosting Hungarian painter Zsolt Gáva. Starting from 15:00 the space will be transformed, showing his impressive art. In the evening there will be live music.
20:15 – Waterschade
21:15 – Panter
22:15 – Teenage Tits

It will be an inspirational exposition which brings contrasts of life together; from the raw and apocalyptic sounds of the Teenage Tits (Amsterdam Punk), reflected in the haphazard shapes of wood found throughout Gáva’s work; all throughout the finer, more beautiful details in life. It will be a day of combining senses and different shapes and worlds of art.

Entrance is free so everyone is welcome! Zsolt Gáva will be here for one night only so it would be a disservice to your soul to miss this opportunity.

Zsolt Gáva, Hungarian painter, was born in 1973. The works applied to wood are based on two decades of graphic design experience. It all started with a love of art and computing. He got his first computer in the first half of the eighties, and has been using various image editing and drawing programs for nearly 40 years. In the first half of the 90s, he completed the comic book drawing course, and then he became interested in the profession of decorator and window dressing. He worked as a graphic designer in the advertising industry for 20 years, during which he developed in a self-taught manner. The meaning of the fantasy name Dryad Art is Forest Nymph – it presents the proximity of the Forest and the energy of trees. The theme is often determined by the shape of the tree, other times the raw material is chosen for a specific theme.
Teenage Tits are one of Amsterdam’s most notorious and wildest punk bands. Having been founded in 1993, in true hardcore punk fashion, they have only just now recorded and finalised their first vinyl record, After Death. Categorizing their music goes beyond the punk label, as in their world fiery improvisation is not off-limits.
Waterschade is a young punk band from Haarlem that knows how to have a good time as well as making music about feminism, criticising capitalism and any other matter they think is important. They bring lots of energy wherever they go so come and see for yourself!
Panter is an Amsterdam based band, consisting of four quirky and legendary characters from the Amsterdam underground RnR and punk scene. Their own particular blend of Rock n Roll, Dutch ‘meezingers’ and all-around craziness is highly contagious!
