INNEC is an innovative Amsterdam-based quartet exploring new paths in music. With their name based on Wassilly Kandinsky’s concept of “Inner Necessity” they state their intention of striving for purity in music while questioning previous conventions and managing to be rooted in the time we are living. The band is formed by four young musicians coming from Spain, Slovenia, Sweeden and Denmark. Their approach blends rhythmic and melidocally complex compositional frameworks with free improvisation, allowing the strong individual voices of each musician to simultaneously roam freely and melt in unity.
Marcus Wärnheim – alto saxophone, Aleksander Sever – vibraphone, Ignacio Pintó – contrabass, Ludvig Søndergaard – drums
This performance at De Tanker is the last act of an artistic residency funded by Amarte that the members of INNEC will be immersed in from the 5th of January.
