Temporary visitors, newcomers, old cats, magical meetings, loud stuff, soft stuff, beautiful things, ugly courses of events, food for thought, thought for food, new best friends, former enemies and hopefully an important reminder of why life sometimes is good.

music for whales is a newly started duo dedicated to playing improvised music. The music revolves around the extended textural possibilities of the acoustic instruments, made possible through intense listening and the personal language of the musicians. The poetical unraveling of the sonic space in every passing moment is finely navigated with precision and a strong feeling of the present.

Tarmo Johannes from Tallinn (EST) and Fie Schouten (from Amsterdam) have collaborated extensively in the past, especially in the field of contemporary composed music. Tonight they will meet bass clarinettist Tobias Klein in a freely improvised setting.
