DESCRIPTION:doors 20:00\nmusic 20:30\ndamage €9 or // + \\ if you’re feeling generous! \n(the return of) nachtnetgat(tutti) at De (Roze) Tanker (in Noord) \nWelcome to the grand return of NACHTNETGAT\, a band initiated by Julie Kurris some 5 and/or 6 years ago which has been on hiatus till upcoming Monday 18 November\, due to a.o. a globally spread virus\, an in depth multi-year dive into another giant interest of our dear initiator\, relocation by some bandmembers to other cities\, (is)lands and even one to a continent across a certain ocean starting with an “A”\, and\, most probably\, just people’s busy schedules.\nJasper (who is/was part of the group) and Julie recently met up to catch up about what they´ve been up to in the past coupl’a years\, and thought it a grand idea to bring back NACHTNETGAT for a festive Monday evening bash at beloved Roze Tanker in Amsterdam Noord. A few of the original band members will be present\, and a lot of wonderful folks are added to the bill. In their music they are moving as if through quantum leaps between jagged landscapes of acoustic noise to abstracted melodic statements interjected with silences. The trio is drenched in the ethos and idea of true musical improvisation where they embrace the unknown without any safety nets. They are deriving their musical DNA from contemporary classical music\, free jazz and their individual studies of the physicality of their instruments.  \nMarcus Wärnheim – alto saxophone\nPietro Elia Barcellona – double bass\nThomas Jaspers – drums and percussion \n\nVera Morais / Siebren Smink  \nVera Morais is an improviser/singer/composer from Portugal. From the moment we are born we develop our personal qualities\, morals and character through the exchange of stories\, fairy tales\, myths\, legends\, chronicles and epic tales. Stories – and storytelling – are an essential part of connection in our society. Also storytelling is one of the oldest and most primitive forms of transmission and interchange. \nThe same principles apply to music. Ever since humanity had developed the skill to slam something with the palm of their hand\, there was music and rhythm. It is within us all. Try your best to imagine a world without music and stories/storytelling – difficult\, isn’t it? Even the greatest thinkers with the most fantastical and imaginative minds would find this an impossible task. \nTwo storytellers\, two sets of improvised music. First the storyteller will regale the audience with a tale and then the musicians will interpret – and transform – the story into music. Like this there will be communication through sounds and words. Respected and renovated musicians will join and envelop you in an extraordinary world of sound. DESCRIPTION:Expositie PROWLER \ndoor Luís @cameraelectric\n\nLuís fotografeerde sluipend katten en hun omgeving in de Portugese nachten.\n\nHij fotografeert wat goed voelt en dan vooral analoog.\n\nDe beelden worden op een rauwe contrastrijke manier afgedrukt.\nGeïnspireerd door fotografen als Moriyama\, Fukase en Araki maar vooral door de fotografen uit Provoke Magazine.\n\nDoor het hoge contrast onstaan er nieuwe vormen in het beeld die op het moment van fotograferen nog niet te zien waren.\n\nIn deze expositie verbindt hij kleine formaat foto’s zorgvuldig met elkaar tot een groter geheel. Waardoor er van afstand een abstract beeld wordt gevormd die uitnodigt om het van dichterbij te bekijken. En te kunnen zien waar die katten s’nachts toch uit hangen.\n\nPROWLER\nrauw hard en verre van poëtisch!\n\nLuís Flora Jacinto studeerde aan de Escola das Artes in Porto met een master in fotografie.
