DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n“Counterpoint” is a concert series where artists instincts and experimentations meet. A hotbed for un/harmonious interplay of sounds\, visual art\, thoughts and imagination\, space\, time\, presence of body\, and the interaction with other beings. \n—————————————- \nThe self-built instrument von Jiyun Park is crafted through experiments to extract inherent sounds from materials and incorporate a feedback system. This instrument\, blending strings\, metallic elements and electronics\, generates circulation of intermingling sound and embraces internal and external boundaries in a symphony of uncontrolled beauty. Her techniques challenge conventions\, delving into the depths of gesture\, space\, and sonic exploration. The coupling of acoustic and electronic resonances in a performable instrument that has an almost sculpture like quality is intriguing. \nJiyun Park (1990\, KR/DE) is an artist\, based in Cologne and Berlin\, Germany. Having graduated from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne in 2020\, she continually refines her artistic practice\, focusing on acoustic sound\, movement\, and spatial exploration. Her practices are influenced by the sensory organs of living beings and their unique method to perceive. The project works with analogue electronics\, radio waves\, electromagnetic interference and found sounds\, creating sophisticated aural images\, often exploring extreme areas of the sonic spectrum.
