DESCRIPTION:Lena Vigeveno is a Dutch artist born and raised in Amsterdam. Starting as a \n\n\n\ncostume designer and stylist her love of textiles is still a big inspiration for her \n\n\n\ncurrent work. \n\n\n\n‘This series is about my relationship to my Ukrainian heritage. \n\n\n\nInspired by folklore\, traditions\, and family tales\, I’ve been painting the mythical \n\n\n\nfigures that are my (and perhaps all of our) ancestors. \n\n\n\nThese larger paintings depict famous folk figures of East Slavic culture. \n\n\n\n I combined these figures with traditional embroidery techniques and different \n\n\n\nfabrics\, representing my family \n\n\n\n’s and my personal relationship to the trade of \n\n\n\nclothes making. \n\n\n\n‘ \n\n\n\nCONTACT: \n\n\n\nEmail: lenavigeveno@gmail.com \n\n\n\nInstagram: Lenavigeveno \n\n\n\nWebsite: Lenavigeveno.nl
